Perspektywy badań nad zmianami osadniczymi w regionie Dongoli po upadku Królestwa Makurii

Abstrakt

Artykuł skupia się na perspektywach badawczych tak zwanego okresu Fundż w regionie Dongoli, zarysowuje także sytuację polityczno-społeczną po upadku Królestwa Makurii oraz przedstawia interpretację zachodzących wówczas procesów na podstawie źródeł pisanych. Artykuł ten przedstawia także sytuację etniczną w dolinie środkowego Nilu rekonstruowaną na podstawie źródeł pisanych mówiących o napływie ludności arabskiej na tereny zajmowane przez Królestwo Makurii. W dalszej części przedstawiony jest stan badań archeologicznych związanych ze wspomnianym okresem oraz rozważane są możliwe do zastosowania w badaniach nad nim podejścia i metody badawcze. Pośród omawianych podejść dyskutowane jest zastosowanie archeologii historycznej, archeologii islamu oraz etnoarcheologii w badaniach nad okresem Fundż w regionie Dongoli. Ostatnia część przedstawia możliwości studiów regionalnych w badaniach nad osadnictwem i polityczną integracją w dolinie środkowego Nilu. Celem artykułu jest ocena słuszności zastosowania dyskutowanych perspektyw badawczych w odniesieniu do realiów występujących w omawianym regionie oraz dostępności i charakteru źródeł.
