Abstrakt

Dolina Omo, położona na terenie południowo-zachodniej Etiopii jest poddawana w ostatnich latach intensywnym reformom agrarnym i społecznym. Rząd etiopski we współpracy z zagranicznymi inwestorami podjął się implementacji licznych projektów, zmieniających gruntownie dotychczasową równowagę społeczną i ekologiczną. W niniejszym artykule została dokonana analiza wpływu kilku kluczowych inwestycji na egzystencję mieszkańców omawianego regionu. Zostaną omówione następujące kwestie: budowa tamy Gibe III, jak i sześciu cukrowni oraz przejęcie rozległych obszarów z przeznaczeniem na plantacje nowych upraw.
